Aerial Dance Fitness© – Tissu, Hammock & Hoop

Don’t get intimidated by the apparatus. Those who have taken and continue to take this class are of different background, age, shape and fitness level (including those who believe are out of shape). This is absolutely a GREAT CLASS… not only does it condition your body for balance, strength endurance and flexibility, it also teaches you to discover your artistic skills through interpretative movements. Aerial moves are customized based on your response.

Aerial Dance Fitness© with Tissu, Hammock & Hoop

Hammock Aero-Fitness

The latest trend in aerobic workout, Hammock Aero-Fitness is geared towards the average person who wants to make the most out of their workout and still have fun. Think classic aerobics, add an aerial apparatus and yes, you get a pretty exercise combination while while suspended on air.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 12:00 noon @ Costa Mesa
  • Wednesdays and Fridays: 6:00 pm @ Costa Mesa

Kids Aerial Dance (5 - 11 years old)

Great start for your kids to learn progressive cutting edge performing arts such as dance and aerial arts designed specifically for kids. The aerial apparatus will be Hoop and Hammock.
  • Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays: 5:00 – 6:00 pm @ Costa Mesa
  • Sundays 11am - 12pm @ Fountain Valley

DanceFlex

First part of the class foucses on flexibility with unique contortion yoga based exercises, followed by interpretative movements that is geared towards your own style.

  • Wednesdays: 7:30 - 8:15 pm @ Costa Mesa
  • Thursdays: 6:00 - 6:45pm @ Costa Mesa

Ballet Barre & Modern Jazz

You can take just the ballet barre and still get a great workout. A different form of flexibility class, the ballet barre uses the barre as a key tool in carrying out stretch exercises. The selling point of this class is the ability to correct your posture and learn basic core balance while loosening up your joints for increase range of motion. This class is followed by center modern-jazz combination for those who want to step up their coordination skills.

  • Thursdays: 7:45pm - 9:15 @ Costa Mesa

Ballet-Jazz for Kids (3-7 yrs old)

This class combines the structured technique required in ballet, thus allowing the student to learn proper posture and body awareness, physical control, balance, flexibility and agility combined with playful creative movements of the jazz style.
  • Tues & Thurs: 4:00 – 4:45 pm @ Garden Grove

Apprenticeship Program

The program is geared towards training in Aerial Arts, Jazz, Modern, Salsa and Acrobatic partnering. Each applicant will be assessed and placed based on their skills and background. Training will start in January 2010. First performance event will be on: January 30, 2010

Please submit your application for consideration. Fees will depend on placement, choice and number of discipline.


Rehearsal Schedule:

Mondays - Fridays: 1-5 pm (except Tues & Thursdays shorter hours)
Tuesdays: 8:30pm 
Wednesdays - Thursdays - Fridays: 9:30 pm
Saturdays & Sundays: 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

 

Salsa Styling & Technique: Teens & Adults

Kill 3 birds with one stone... World Mayan Salsa Champion, and former "So You Think You Can Dance " choreographer, Ruby Karen will cover the bases: LEAD & FOLLOW TECHNIQUE and BASIC STYLING (Stance, Footing, Body Isolation and Hands and Arm) while learning easy to memorize patterns that can be applied in social dancing.
  • Fridays: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm @ Costa Mesa

SUMMER KIDS AERIAL CAMP:

WORKSHOPS

We are constantly offering a variety of workshops, including Aerial Dance Fitness©, Aerial Arts (Silk, Hammock & Hoop), Acrobatic Partner Tricks aka Lift and Dips, Spins and Turns for Ballet, Jazz, Salsa and other dance formats.
